This handcrafted brooch blends bold colour with intricate design, drawing inspiration from the richly decorative work of Owen Jones. The body is laser cut from clear acrylic and UV printed with a vivid section of an oriental-inspired pattern, alive with greens, pinks and warm orange tones. 

Jones was one of the 19th century’s great design thinkers, known for studying global ornament and translating it into striking, modern patterns. His work, particularly in The Grammar of Ornament, explored the power of colour, geometry and abstraction, often inspired by Islamic and Eastern design traditions . That influence is reflected here, where the pattern’s balance and vibrancy sit beautifully within the clean silhouette of the bird.

The wing on the top layer in a contrasting acrylic adds depth and softness, allowing glimpses of the intricate design beneath. The result is a piece that feels both graphic and organic, precise yet full of life.

Each brooch is carefully assembled by hand, ensuring a high-quality finish and a truly individual piece.
